How “good” of a Christian am I when all I do that’s even remotely “Christian” is sit in church on Sundays and discuss things I already know? I wanna help people. Church has its merit. It’s encouraging and uplifting. But I’m just sitting there. Listening to things that I’ve been told all my life and already believe. They just might be told to me in a new light and refresh my beliefs. So yes, that’s a good thing. But to me it’s not Jesus.

Jesus helped people. He taught the Truth. He healed and saved and changed the world. I’m not saying I can heal with the touch of my hand or turn water into wine. But I SHOULD be helping people. 

Sitting in church every Sunday, like I said, is not a bad thing. But I’m struggling to believe it makes me a “good Christian”. Like the saying goes. Being in church doesn’t make me a Christian any more than being in a garage makes me a car.

CHRISTian. Be like Christ. 

Sitting and debating silly issues like whether or not someone is saved if he was halfway into the baptistry and then lightning struck him dead is a waste of time. We should be looking deeper into scripture and sharing the fact that Jesus is the Saviour to the world, while helping them.
